In the stories the ghost children share their fear of disappearing, to never be seen again. They speak of hopes and dreams and of their thoughts and opinions about each other.
Yes there is sadness and peril, but there is also laughter, humour and joy as you get to know who Annabel Lee, Percy, Molly, Ratgirl, Patch, Toby, Tinker, Boo and Baby really are.
In the meantime, if you stay and visit, they will haunt you forever.
The children are helped in other ways too. With nimble fading fingers they fashion Ghost Dolls, (like the ones you see on this site), in their own image, and spirit them into our world in hopes they will be found and cared for by someone living. It's wonderful when it happens. In fact, were it not for people just like you finding and caring for the children's Ghost Dolls over the past 200 years, they, the children, would have vanished long ago.
The longer the children remain tangible, the more chance they have of finding an escape from Ravensbreath Island to re-join their families, wherever they may be.
